WITH TUNEFUL ABS Story of Life, Love and Youth Richly Interwoven With , Catchy Lyrics STRIKING EFFECT IS FLUTTER OF DOVES A musical comedy must be tuneful, it must be pleasing and it must have a pretty chorus to be a success, “Ka- tinka” had these qualifications. Thus, the success of the production as seen by a paéked house at the Auditorium last evening. A happier, prettier, freer and more zestful and spontaneous musical show has not been a guest—or host— at the Auditorium for several seasons. “Katinka” had the hardihood to bring out an audience of practically 1,200 to conquer its hearts as well as con- quer the weather. Filled With Sparkling Melody The “Racketty Coo” and “Your Photo” song hits are being whistled in every home or business house in the city. The show is filled with such sparkling melody hits. In the ver nacular of sport writers, the play has a “knock-out” for any musical comedy seen in the city during the season. The costuming was gorgeous blending effectively and pleasingly with the raiment. The orchestra gives the mu- sical lyrics a lilt which makes them wonderfully catchy and breezy. ‘“Ka- tinka”—meaning pure— is a story of life, love and youth. The musical hit of the play, the “Rackety Coo,” comes in the first act and as the introduction starts, the setting is made truly ‘effective by the fluttering of two white doves on- the stage and their “coos.” The! verses are sung by “Katinka,” Miss Mar- garet Owens; then Ivan, John ‘Rob- erts; the chorts, and finally winds up as the last number for the second act. The air is carried throughout the en- tire play. ‘Russian Dances. Elinor Vincent and ‘Nicholas Kovac stage a Circassian dance in the first two acts. They appeared in their native garb and answered three en- cores. The better dancing contribut- ed by this dual is done bythe lat- ter. { Scoring triumphantly in the produc- ANTIDOTES FOR @ BODILY POISONS (By L. H. Smith, M. D.) The victims of auto-intoxication are many thousand every day. By reason of the toxins, or poisons bred. in the intestines, these poisonous bacteria are sent all through the blood chan- nels and the victim feels tired, sleepy and headachy, or the brain doesn’t work as usual, The best treatment for this is to drink hot water before breakfast—plenty of water all day and procure a simple laxative, made of May-apple, leaves of aloe, ‘etc., with no calomel and entirely vegetable, which can be obtained at any drug store, known as Dr. Pierce's Pleasant Pellets. Equally important is it to cleanse kidneys and. bladder, and drinking plentifully of pure water will cleanse them to a certain extent. Then ob- tain at the drug store a little Anuric, which was first discovered by Dr. Pierce of Surgical Institute in Buffalo, N. Y.: Anuric (double strength) should be taken before meals. It is many times more. potent than lithia in throwing off the poisonous accum- ulations of uric acid. Through failure of kidneys to act, through congestion, inflammation, any person’s condition is ripe for disease to fasten its hold upon the system. Anuric has been tested for the past few years for kidney, bladder, uric acid troubles, rheumatism, gout, and such ailments as follow, and so many, cases both acute and stubborn have yielded to this wonderful remedy that I do not hesitate to recommend it. — to make yourself a laughing stock for all your readers. You don’t need to think you can scare us out any, from speaking the truth, by calling us German sympa- thizers; there are many of'us who know a few things about J. P. Morgan & Co.'s connection with -our press patrigtism, even though this'seems to be very disagreeable truth to the Tribune. ‘ eo fhe Yours truly, MRS. J: C. O'RYAN, EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL.
