TO ATTEND MEETING OF EPWORTH LEAGUE TRUSTEES Rev. Blaine Lambert, Dr, and Mrs. G. H. Zentz and Mrs. H M. Broadhurst left this morning for Park Rapids on a’combined pleasure and business trip. They. will, have dinner at the State Park and will at- tend a meeting of the trustees of the Epworth League ‘Instistute at Park Rapids this afternoon. Dr. Zentz is dean and Rev. Lambert is secretary of the trustees. The Epworth League Institute is to be held at Park Rapids the last week in July and the -first week in August, ‘and will mean much to the young people of this northern country. . These insti- tutes are held all over the country each summer, and this is the first year for one at Park Rapids. It is to be an annual affair hereafter. While they are in the nature of an outing for the young people, special study along' religious lines is' taken up and good teachers are provided. Blakeley, Turtle River, at 8 o’clock last evening, Miss Ruth Blakeley was united in marriage to Walter Ritchie. The ceremony was witnessed by about fifty relatives and friends. Rev. L. P. Warford of Be- midji read the service, the single ring ceremony being used. To the trains of Lohengrin’s wed- ding march, played by the groom’s sister, Mrs. J. G.:Rice, the party took their places. They were attended by Miss Naomi Blakel sister of the -bride, and EIi Ritchie, brother of the groom. The bride was gown- ed in white organdie and carried a shower bouquet of roses and lilies of the ‘valley. The bridesmaid wore a gown of apricot colored organdie, Following the service, the hridal party received the congratulations of the guests, -after which they wére served a three-course luncheon. MYSTERIOUS STRANGER (By United Press) Minneaolis, May 18—Pointed out by his wife, William Allen was shot and killed by a mysterious stranger near his home last night. Allen, a trucking con tor, fell unconscious at his wife cet on the doorsteps and died within a short time, No motive for the murder is known. The man who fired the shot ran to a waiting automobile and es- caped. Allen and his wife had been at the home of R. S. Allen, a broth- er, and were walking home, Mrs. Allen walking ahead, Mr. Allen stop- ping to talk to his brother., When reaching home a man, approached ther and demanded to know the ad- idress and wanted to know if Allen lived there, “There he is coming down the street,”” Mrs, Allen replied, point- ing to her husband.
