Winter and fall have their o]}portunities for thesuggestion of -comfort, warmth and snugness. Spring and summer offer seasonable harmony. of color. and lightness of weight. No better medium for the reflection of nature’s moods for these seasons exists in milady’s wardrobe than the sweater. This popular garment, although as- sociated originally. with comfort and utility has entered unchallenged the field of stylish apparel. There it is rapidly gaining in favor. Not only was this reflected inthescenes at fash- jonable resorts, during the past few months, where sweaters held undis- puted sway, Lul it now apparent on the sireet, in busincss quarters, and in the home as well. On the'golf links and tennis court the informal sweater predominates to such-a degree as to.become almost a . formality Both slipover and tuxedo appear in stunning .rivalry. DELEGATES NOW ON WAY T0 BIG CATHOLIC MEET (Continued From Page 1) in his hands the Holy Eucharist, will be borne on the Sedia Gestitoria in the midst of the Papal court, sacred college, Vatican diplomatic corps, Roman nobility and countless thou- sands of the faithful from all over the, world. One of the three following plans will culminate in a grand pontificial according to present plans at the Vatican: First—The entire Eucharistic pro- ion may come out of St. Peter’s, always with His Holiness being car- ried on the Sedia Gestitoria, and make the complete circuit of St. Petet’s square underneath the famous Berini colonnades Second—The procession may mere- ly come out of St. Peter’s under the grand loggia which opens out onto St. Peter’s square; Third—Pope Pius XI. may merely content himself by again giving his blessing from the central balcony of St. Peter’s. Breaking Tradition In either the first or sccond event this will constitute the first time since 1870 that a Supreme Pontiff has left the Vatican and even in the third event it will constitute a breaking down of the Papal tradition, not to bless the public from St. Peter’s bal-| cony, as a sign of protest agains Italy’s alleged imprisonment of the Popes in the Vatican. The precise from which Pope Pius XI. will select for his manifestation will depend upen circumstances at the last minute. It is expected that there will be at least 100,000 people gathered on May 20th, for the Ponti- on.
