The Lake Shore hotel has had many extensive alterations and additions made or in the process of construction. It will be a modern build- ing when finished. Morris Kaplan continues to exhibit his faith in Bemidji by starting another business block next to his three-story apartment block. The new block will be two stories, 50 fect by 140 feet. The Doran block is almost completed and has made a fine improvement to Minnesota avenue. Third street will searcely be recognized by Bemidji citizens in a few days. Earle Barker is constructing a two-story brick block 25 feet by 100 feet west of his store. New brick fronts are being put in by Abercrombie & Mc- Cready, Larson & Larson, who are also entirely remodeling the interior of their building. When these fronts are completed there will be a uniform brick front for 100 feet on Third street. The Third Strcet cafe building has a similar front, so that when the building, at present occupied by the Consumers Shoe company, is rebuilt, if the same style of front is used, there will be 150 feet of this uniform front. And when these buildings are all built there will still be need of more, from informa- tion gathered. Opinions expressed to The Pioneer representative are to the effect that there is demand without precedent for both homes and office and store buildings.
