G. Forrest; Vice-Chair- man, Miss Lloyd Nikkols; Secretary, +Mrs, Carl Espeseth and Treasurer, The retiring officers are: Mrs. Ella Peavy, Chair- man; Mrs. C. G. Erick C. Jacobson, who a short time ago sold-his farm in Leon to his sou Carl, is busy building a new res- idence in the Highland Park addi- tlon. Mr. Jacobson, after his many years of faithful service on the farm will retire for the time being and take things easy in the future. Dr. . H. Mount, who, moved into. this country from Minneapolis, and who located at Leonard last eummer, has moyed to Clearbrook __and. .will make this point his future home, his reason being. the central location of the place, the large rich territory which goes to; make up its range, and the development which is tak- ing place. Dr. Mount is a Veterin- ary surgeon ana dentist and a grad- uate of the French Veterinary school ‘of Laval University, Montreal, Can- ada, and licensed in Minnesota with thirty -years experience. He gives consultations free and maintains both day and night service. His office is located in the .Martin Johmson liv- ery. Mr. and Mfs. Peter Ringstad have | 4 just about completed their new resi- dence in the’south part of town. . The Clearbjook ‘postmaster, Mr. Anderson, has just installed- a fine section, of alf steel automatic lock boxes. They are much appreciated by the publlé and are now doing good service for Uncle Samuel. | Narve O. Trulson went to Shevlin the forepart of this week to visit with his bro&er who resides near there. | Miss: Hllfla and Cora .orgeson have departed:for Minneapolis where they are now employed. - Mr. and Mrs. Emil Holquist arriv- er here for n few days visit from Alexander, N."D., and will'\« make Clearwpter their future home. Emil got tired of mdlng ang 'never reap- ing.' Mr. and Mrs, Issac Running have moved into the'town of Holst where they have buily a nice home. The tlover t%'reshers are very busy up before ' winter rounds’ them up. Two rural carrier vacancies are at present open for the young men who wish to get into Uncle Sam’s service. The vacancies are at Gonvick and Bagley, one at each place. The ex- aminations to fill these vacancies will take place at Bagley and Clear- brook on November 13th, 1920. Ap- plication blanks may be obtained at either of these two places. Appli- cants may write postmaster at efther place for them, or call in person if congidering entering this class of service. Women will not be consid- ered for rural carrier appointments unjess they are the widows of United States soldiers, sailors or marines, or marines who are physically disquali- fied for examination by reason of in- juries received in the line of mili- tary duty. Mrs. Caroline Olberg arrived here Wednesday morning from Battle Lake. JVhile here she will attend to several ‘urgent business matters. John ‘0. Wennberg, a Leon town- ship pioneer, passed away Tuesday morning, October 19th, at Thief Riv- er Falls, following stroke of-paraly- sis. He has mnot been well Since July when a horse stepped on him. His interment took place Friday at the Swedish Lutheran church at this place. Hundreds of neighbors and friends accompanied the re- mains to its last resting place while Rev. Charles \W. Erickson conducted the funeral service. The sympathy of the whole community is extended to the bereaved family in the loss of a kind husband: and loving father. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Walle, have purchased a lot.upon which they will erect a modern residence in the early |[i spring. They purchased in’the south- eastern section of'the village.
