PAGE SIX MOTHER AND 3 BEAR - CUBS KILLED NEAR TENSTRIKE CAMP American Legion Now Has 22 Members; C. E.’s Hold Meeting at Farm (Special to Pioneer.) Tenstrike, Nov. 11.—Four bears, an old bear and three cubs, were shot last Saturday by Ed Falls and 0. Lewis at the Haluptzok camp, aine miles outof town. Mr. Lewis had been tracking the bears ever gince the snow came and got them coming out of their winteér’s den. The old bear weighed about two hundred and fifty pounds while the cubs weighed ninety pounds each. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Falls Sunday, November 9. H. H. Ferrell of Farley drove 500 sheep through here last Thursday. He is going to winter these sheep, which he procured at the Brookside sheep ranch. The first regular meeting of the Verne Nelson Post o fthe American Legion was held at the Stechman’s % hotel, November 3. There are now A twenty-twe members of this post, e twelve being: present at tHe meeting. i Harold Rearick was elected adjutant 5 to succeed Fred Davis. It was at this > meeting that the boys decided to f have an annual ball on November 11. A number of young people drove out to Robert Krohn’s Sunday even- ing and held their Christian Endeav- or meeting. The society is going to make a practice during the winter months of having its meetings at}| homes in the country. They hope in this way to tevive interest in the Christian Endeavor. There will be a show at the Guild hall all this week. We understand that it is a good clean show full of Jaughs and thrills. Theer will be high class vaudeville and moving pic- taures. The troupe is composed of Mr. and Mrs. Nickols and daughter. It is to be hoped they will be well pat- ronized and be the means of bringing more shows into the town.
