' Stone-Ordean- Wells Company, Wholesale Distributors DULUTH, MINN, Mr. Good Farmer, Vicinity of Bemidji, Dear Sir: Your inquiry about John Deere mower and hay rake re- ceived. It leads us to believe that you are familiar with this well-known make of harvesting machinery. The vertical lift John Deere mower has an exceptionally light cutter bar lift. The twenty-one point clutch puts the cutter bar in action almost as soon as the team begins to move. The John Deere hitch does away entirely with side draft and the adjustment on the cutter bar permits keeping the cut- ter bar properly aligned. On your next trip to Bemidji we would like to show you this mower on our sample floor and explain the benefits derived from each of these improvements. The John Deere hay rake is built almost entirely of steel. The frame of the rake is trussed up in such a way that it would be impossible to sag. The axels are cold rolled steel stubs and are interchangeable, so that when one end of the axel wears it may be used on the frame and the other end used in the hub. The rakes have double wearing surface on the rachet so that when worn out from use on one end they may be exchanged and used on the other end of the rake. The tooth holders are so arranged as to make a ten-foot rake twenty-six or thirty-two tooth. We carry a good supply of repairs for both mowers nnd rakes. L Yours truly, GIVEN HARDWARE CO.
