WILL KEEP RECORD OF SOLDIERS. ¥ - Sata " Soldiers and sailors-of Minnesota are to have their deeds .and services recognized by the state and by each community from which they are enlisted under.plans that have been adopted by the public safety commission, at the suggestion of| Governor Burnquist. - The commission unanimously ‘endorsed the governor’s idea and the work will proceed at once. Under the plan, each community will. maintain an honer SR * roll,.recording-the name of all men in service, together with their achievements, dates of entry and discharge. Each county director of the commission will appoint an individual or a com- mittee to read all war news and note all mention of men from that particular locality. S 7 In the case of a citation of any man for special bravery, this committee will-address a letter to him-expressing the pride of the citizens of his old home town and appreciation of the|- honor that he has brought upon it. A copy of this letter will go into the local newspapers and clippings of press comments mailed to the man in service. b g The committee will also address an appropriate commun- ication to the next of kin of all men in the community whose S names appear upon the list of casualties which is to be delivered i by some selected prominent citizen in person. This plan will no doubt lead to a nation-wide effort to see that generous recognition is given to all men in the service-and 2 all communities will take pride in maintaining their individual honor rolls. e : 3 Governor Burnquist and the commission immediately recog- It-may—but what's the use?
