FOUR - 10LA, KAN., WANTS T0 KNOW OF BEMIDJI AND COMMERCIAI CLUB Bemidji's hustling Commercial club is becoming known afar, judg- ing from the letter received this morning by Secretary Lamson from Albert White, head of the White Shoe company of Iola, Kan., who writes the Bemidji club as follows: “Having read in commercial papers of the successful commer- ¥ cial club organization in your town, am asking that you give me some information regarding your method of keeping up in- terest among the members, some of the things you have ac- complished and any other in- formation that will help me to stir up some enthusiasm among our business men and establish a spirit of co-operation. “We have had a commercial club here for years but it is gradually dying and it is my desire to get them togetner and show them some living examples of and some plausable plans, of successful merchants’ organiza- tions that will stir them to ac- tion. Have you had any “style shows” or ‘“‘trade weeks” that you could give details of? Will appreciate any information you can give me.” AMUSEMENTS EXEMPT ‘Washington, Sept. 10.—Amuse- ment parks, the main gates, shows and ‘“rides” where charges are 25 cents or less were added by the sen- ate today to the list of exemptions from the amusement tax section of the war revenue bill.
