IDEATH DIVE T0 BE GIVEN DALY ‘Amazing Larry” Brown, Fear- less Carranzista Airman, to Fly Daily at Fair. “Amazing Larry” Brown is coming to the Minnesota state fair, Sept. 3 to 8, to fly upside down, take the “leap »f death,” and loop the loop to his aeart’s content each afternoon and avening. And “Bandit” Villa, the Mexican origand, is breathing more easily. For three years this slip of a lad, taken into the service of the Car ranza forces when only 18 years old, has mercilessly harassed the forces of Francisco Villa. Night and day he has watched as an aerial outpost, or hurled bombs into the Villa ranks, un- til he has become known as “The Eye That Never Sleeps.”” And the Villa forces have come to dread him as they have never dreaded any other part of the Carranzista army. It takes more than a glimpse of this man Brown to fathom him and his ability as an airman. He looks like a happy-go-lucky high school boy, who has never had a care in the world. It will not be leng until he is flying in France against the German aerial forces, and it will be a sorry day for some of the enemy pilots when he gets into action. At present he is recovering from a bad fall suffered several months ago when his machine became unmanageable and, dropping to earth, was smashed into an almos{ unrecognizable mass. Brown will make two flights each afternoon. He flys upside down per fectly, and for a long distance, some thing which no aviator who has ever appeared at the fair has ever done His most famous fcat, however, 1 what is called “The Death Dive,” In which he volplanes nearly a mile in the air with the ncse of his ship turned sharply downward, until ar he end of the drop his machine ig going not less than 300 miles 2n hour This is the drop which Beachgy tried | and which resulted in his death iz Frisco Bay. In the evening Brown will loop the loop in the darkness, with a fireworks ' display. THE BEMIDJI DAILY' PIONEER Real Fruit In Glase Vials with JiffyJen You must try this new, perfocted tine dessert.
