=~ FRIDAY. JUNE 8. 1917. THE BEMIDJI DAILY PIONEER “Kio-Yie-Yie! Get Me ‘Gets-It’ Quick!” 2 Drops Make Corn “Fall” Off | “T've joined the Never-Again Club. Never again will T use anything for corns but . ‘Gets:It.’ . Put rops of ‘Gets-It’ on, and from that sec- ond the’corn begins to- shrivel, grounds by securing coaches to give their services without pay from among the best athletes in the city.” Mr. Mason is an enthusiastic believer in the playgrounds as a cure for many of the ills city humanity is heir to. He said: “Give the boys and girls and men and women who have to livé and work under hard conditions the choice of wholesome recreation, such as our venters and playgrounds offer, or the street corner and the saloon, and there’s no question which nine out of ten will choose. Just give them the choice. “It's the same way with the older T BiG SEASON | FOR PLAYGROUNDS { Phiiadeiphia Supervisor Expécts -} Attendance of 5,000,000. folk—they like to come to the play- : ‘ n“AKEH GITY A lEAnEH grounds for a swim on a hot summer’s J night, or to join a folk dancing or so- Tor Years Ago Philadelphia Was With. | ¢ial dancing class. as many older wo- out Public Playgrounds, but Now It men do, or to sit on a bench and smoke I Is the Second City In the Country In 8 pipe (that is, the men) and just ‘take 4 it easy’ after a hard day's work. Philadelphia, which ten years ago 'was without public playgrounds, is now the second city in the country in the number and equipment of her child recreation centers, the only city su- " perior in this respect being Chicago." ‘This was brought out in a recent re- port of Montgomery Harris, president. of the Playgrounds association. He said the association now had thirty playgrounds in operation in various parts of the city and that nine addi- tional ones would be opened this sum- mer. Sites have already been selected at Twenty-fourth and Jackson streets, “Oh, Don’t Touch It! It's So Sore!” Use ‘Gets-It” and It Will Never Be Sore! instead of swelling up like a little white sponge.
