Chilgren of Clearbrook held services in the North Fork school house Sunday. . On Decoration Day, a number of patriotic people met at the Island Lake cemetery with axes, grub hoes, shovels, etc., and proceeded to root out the unsightly stumps which had heretofore adorned the cemetery. In the afternoon Mrs. Frank Stout and Mrs. William Winger served coffee and cake to the hungry ‘“bunch.” The following have recently placed new monuments on their lots in the cemetery: Frank Stout, William Jallen, Mrs. Collins and Christ Thor- son. Burd Elliott, who is running- a saw mill near Mud River, is home this week planting his garden. There has been heavy frosts in this vicinity nearly every night dur- ing the past week. Everything is badly in' need of rain. Miss Agnes McNulty closed her successful term of school in North Fork school, Dist. No. 97, Thursday with' g picnic and a general good time for everybody. Mrs. William Jallen called on Mrs. Erickson last Monday afternoon. The Aure Ladies Aid meets with Mrs. Thorval Matheson Thursday of this week. Mrs. Louie Winger called on Mrs. J. B. Ellis, Mr. Olson, John Moon, George Angell, R. €. Shaw and J. D. Bogart. Games were played and a nice din- ner was served in picnic style. Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Marcoe autoed to Schilling’s last Wednesday. Forest fires are raging in vicinity. Miss Ning Knutson is visiting at the Schilling home. Vincent Filbrick’s house was de- stroyed by forest fire last week while he was working at a neighbor’s. Mrs. Dinsmore, who has been vis- iting her daughter, Mrs. S. H.
