EASTER VACATIONISTS Many of the Bemidji girls and boys, who are attending various uni- versities, schools and colleges will return to Bemidji for their Easter va- cations, while others will be the guests of friends and relatives in va- rious cities and towns. Some of the boys, who had not planned on com- ing home for their vacations, may be compelled to do so if the Bemidji na- val militia is called out, being mem- bers of that body. Margaret Anderson will return to- morrow morning from Moorhead nor- mal school, and will be the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George An- derson, of Bemidji avenue. She was among the guests at a house party at the home of Miss Ruth Cronequist of Erskine today. Ellp Laqua will return next week from Macalester college. Velma Dean, . who attends St. Mary’s hall, Faribault, will not re- turn until April 10. Alvin Olson will return next week from the University of North Dakota. Mr. Olson is a member of the Bemidji naval militia. Edwin J. Simons, who is also student at the University of North Dakota, will not return to Bemidji for his vacation unless the naval mili- tia is called into service. Leon Battles, a student at the Uni- versity of Minnesota, will return to his home next week. Mr. Battles is also a militia boy. Don Shannon is expected home next week and will be the guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Shannon, during vacation. He attends the ag- ricultural school at St. Paul. Claire Nangle will not return to Bemidji for Easter but will be the guest of relatives in Toronto, Can- ada. Miss Nangle attends the Uni- ‘W versity of Toronto. Dorothy Torrance, Oberlin college student, Oberlin, 0., will visit her grandmother, Mrs. Wallace Webster, in Indiana and friends and relatives in Cleveland, O., during Easter. Alex Ripple will return Wednesday of next week from Wahpeton, N. D., O v~ where he is a student in the school of science. Corrine Carlson, Hamline univer- sity student, St. Paul, will be the guest of Minneapolis friends. Izora Scott, of Granville college, Ohio, will be the guest of her brother, F. F. Scott, of Newark, Ohio. Helen Evans, University of Minne- sota student, will visit relatives in Eau Claire, Wis. Arvilla Kenfield has returned from Minneapolis where she is taking a course in Miss Wood’s Kindergarten school. Lester Achenbach will not return from the University of Wisconsin at Madison for Easter, the vacation be- ing too short to warrant the trip. Ralph Gracie, who is a student at the University of Minnesota, does not expett to return for Easter vacation. MRS. BALTZELL HONORED The members of the Royal Neigh- bor lodge gave a farewell party last night in honor of Mrs. Homer Balt- zell, 1120 Park avenue, and present- ed to her a Royal Neighbor pin. Those present were Mesdames Charles Parker, Leon Jewett, L. G. Crothers, Julius Meilicke, George French, P. M. Peterson, H. Palmer, Maude Pet- erson, George Elletson, Bert Clavk. Moritz, George Sterling, Harry Slough, T. J. Slough, John Kittle- son, George Paquin, Misses Georgia Smith, Lillian French and Mrs. Balt- zell’s sister, Miss Esther Mackey, of Ferris. The evening was spent in cards and music, after which re- freshments were served. ' NEW MUSIC CLUB ‘Margaret Lord was elected presi- dent of a class in musical apprecia- tion lately organized by the pupils of the Hayden School of Music. The class will meet every Saturday after- noon at 2 o’clock.
