WEDNESDAY. MARCH 21, 1917. SOCIETY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED Lawrence LaMont egtertained at a birthday party yesterday afternoon at his home on ‘Minnesota avenue, it being hig tenth birth anniversary. The afternoon was spent in games and music, after which refreshments were served. The guests included Dorothy Andrews, Hazel Ibertson, Bernice Hannah, Katherine McKee and Ardyth Malzahn, Fred and Les- lie Bourcier, John Black, Robert Gra- ham, Herman Anderson, Ivan and , Clinton Paquin. NATAL DAY PARTY Gail Bush entertained a number of little friends yesterday afternoon in honor of his fifth birth anniver- sary. The guests were Edna and Viola Lambert, Alice and Mary Krantz and Blanche and Ione Bush. GUILD MEETS The Episcopal Guild will meet with Mrs. Charles W. Vandersluis Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. e members are requested to come early as there is work to do. MRS. THOMPSON HOSTESS Mrs. Frank Thompson, matron of the rest room, entertained Mesdames Fallon, Bacon, Young and Miss Emma Rusness of Fargo, N. D., yesterday afternoon, in honor of Miss Rusness who is visiting at the Bacon and Fal- lon homes. Pink carnations weré used in decorating. CHOIR PRACTICE The choir of the Swedish Lutheran church will meet this evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Clo- ver, 818 Irvine avenue. All members are urged to be present. Mr. Burgess, who attends a veterin- ary school in Chicago, will return to Bemidji about April 10, to remain during the summer. ¢ A 25c dinner will be served Sat- urday noon in the Presbyterian church. Spooner returned yes- terday from Washington, D. C., where he had been since March 3 and where he had a case in the Supreme court. Mrs. Spooner, who accompanied him to Washington, will remain in the Twin Cities for a couple of days. Judge Spooner reports considerable delay enroute home on account of the heavy snow in Wisconsin. Trask of this city, died Thursday morning, March 15, at Lawton, Ramsey county, Minn., at the age of 91 years. She was the last surviving member of a family of ten children, being herself the mother of seven children, four of whom preceded her to the grave. Mrs. Chase fell and broke her hip bone recently, from which shock she never fully recovered. Up to the time of her accident she had en joyed almost perfect health. The fu- neral was held Friday, March 16, from the Congregational church in Lawton and interment made in the No Phosphate cemetery of that city. Mrs. Trask of this city had been with her mother during her illness. TO LEAVE BEMIDJI M. A. Clark and family will move to Breckenridge in a few days, where Mr. Clark is connected with a land and loan company. Mr. Clark, who has been in Breckenridge for some time, returned to Bemidji yesterday morning to assist his family in pack- ing. Mr. Clark was formerly judge of probate in this county.
