FAREWELL SURPRISE Mre. Herbert Wood was the guest of honor at a farewell surprise given at the home of ‘Mrs. P. Peterson of ' America-avenue Monday night. Those present were Mesdames Essles, Virtz, McCormick, _Bourcier, Longballa, Bennington, E. L. Wood, Sam Col- lard, Breen, McTaggart, Grover, Ben- son, K. H. Olson and P. Peterson. Mrs. Wood was presented with a re- membrance gift. The evening was spent in conversation and lunch was served at a late hour. Mrs. Wood and ‘children left today for Brainerd where they will be the guests of rela- tives until Mr. Wood has made ar- rangements for accommodations at Baudette, where he has accepted a position -with the Baudette Region, leaving. for that place Sunday.
