McDow- ell, who will return to her home in Aberdeen, S. D., in a short time. A group of ten ladies planned a pleasant surprise yesterday afternoon for Mrs. Kenneth Mclver, the occa- sion being her birth anniversary. The hours were spent in needlework, after which refreshments were served. Mrs. McIver was presented with a remembrance gift. i Personals and Newsy Notes Mrs. T. G. FUNERAL IS HELD The funeral of Miss Lucina Ed- monds, who died Sunday morning at her. home in Grant Valley, was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Methodist church, Rev. B. D. Hanscom officiating. Her daugh- ters, Mrs. Leora Lee of Grant Valley, an.d Mrs. T. G. McWithey of Cloquet, Minn.,, were among the out-of-town relatives present. Interment was made in Greenwood cemetery. STATE AUDITOR HERE J. A. O. Preus, state auditor, spent yesterday in the city on business.
