GOING ON RIDE The Win One adult Bible class of the Methodist church will enjoy a sleigh ride and banquet Thursday evening, January 18. The class will meet in a body at the church at 8 o'clock and will go into the coun- try, returning to the church where a banquet will be served by the losing side of the membership con- test to the entire class. ~The-membership- eontest -has- been running since November 1 and, as a result of the campaign, the mem- bership of the class has been in- creased to seventy. An attendance contest will be the feature of the class for the .next two or three manths. A birthday cake with candles formed the centerpiece for the table. Mrs. Wallace Webster of Butler, Ind., who has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs. G. M. Torrance, and husband for the past month, will leave this evening for Minneapolis where she will visit for two or three weeks before returning to her home in Indiana. Several social affairs have been given in honor of Mrs. Webster during her-stay in Bemidji. The Presbyterian Ladies’ Aid so- ciety will be entertained at the home of Mrs. A. Lord Thursday afternoon. The Fifth Division will entertain. All the ladies are cordially invited. Personals and Newsy Notes John Wilcox, real estate dealer, returned this morning from the Twin Cities where he has been on business since Thursday. While in the cities Mr. Wilcox sold two sections of land to Minneapolis parties. The land is located north of Kelliher. Mr. Wil- cox has also purchased a carload of Overland cars which will be deliv- ered by February 1.
