It was called a rich thing and a short life was predicted. But the prophets were at fault, the bicycle became the greatest craze of its day, and now is in general use as a practical ‘necessity for people who find it fé¢éssary to cover ground hur- riedly “dnd yet can .not afford the more expansive means.
