Stanton of the dis- trict court will go to Minneapolis June 12 to assist in the trial of jury cases. Judge Stanton will preside over court at Brainerd, beginning Monday. Mrs. G. Plukoosky of Yola drove to Bemidji Thursday and attended to business matters. She was accom- panied to her home by Miss Mary Lukosky, who will visit friends there for a month. Mrs. D. M. Brown_‘of Minneapolis is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. O. L. Dent, this week. Mr. Brown ac- companied Mrs. Brown to Bemidji Monday, but returned to his home Tuesday night. Mrs. Karl Flermoen of Rosby, ac- companied by her sister, Mrs. Carrie | Tuff, of Fertile, were visitors in Be- midji yesterday. Mrs. Tuff will spend the summer months at the Flermoen home. J. W. Wilcox, agent for the Over- land automobile and manager of the Northern Land company, will leave tonight for the Twin Cities where he will devote the next several days on business affairs. W. H. Ryan, who has been a guest at the B. W. Lakin home for some time past, left last night for his home at Little Falls. Mrs. Ryan, a sister of Mrs. Lakin, will remain in Be- midji for several days. Mrs. O. Johnson and daughter, Al- shild, will leave tonight for a three weeks’ visit in Minneapolis. While in the city they will be the guests of Mrs. Johnson’s mother, Mrs. Sjel- stad, and her sister, Mrs. Bakke. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Grover left this morning for a two weeks’ visit in Montana. They will spend a week pwith Mr. Grover’s cousin, Fred De- Rong, at Columbus after which they will visit with relatives at Billings. Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Case of St. {Paul arrived in Bemidji the early part of the week. #Mrs. Case will visit for several weeks with her sis- ter, Mrs. E. Ebert. Mr. Case left this noon for Duluth where he will re- main indefinitely upon business mat- ters. Joseph Christie, who has been em- ployed in the office of the Crookston Lumber company Yor the past five years, has resigned‘his position and will leave tomorrow night for New "ork City where he has accepted a position in the chemical department of the Republic Trading company. In celebration of her birth anni- versary, Mrs. Mable Young was the guest of honor at a surprise party at her home on Minnesota avenue vesterday afternoon. Ten members of the Linger Longer club made up the party. A dainty lunch was served in conclusion of the afternoon which was spent in sewing. A thea- ter party was given in the evening.
