GENERAL OFFICES ®NEW YORK AND CHICAGO BRANCHES IN ALL THE PRINCIPAL CITIES —_———— PRIMARY ELECTION Tomorrow the voters of Minnesota will select delegates to the several national conventions to nominate candidates for president and vice- president. This will be the first presidential primary to be held in this state and the voters will be given the oppor- tunity to vote direct for delegates. The polls will open at nine a. m. and close at nine p. m. There are only four delegates to be elected at large and two from each congressional district. If the voter votes for more than four dele- gates-at-large his vote does mnot count. He may vote for less than four delegates-at-large and his vote counts for the delegates for which he voted. Our advice to the voter is to be sure and study the ballot carefully before they vote. It is simple when given a thought. Take no chances. Think before you mark the ballot. For president on the Republican ticket there are three candidates— Cummins, Estabrook and Webster. On the Democratic ticket Woodrow Wilson is the only candidate and on the Prohibition ticket there are two candidates—Foss and Sulzer. x x A. A, D. Rahn for Delegate. “Andy” Rahn, well known in this city, having a farm near here, and having many interests in Bel- trami county, is a candidate for dele- gate-at-large on the Cummins ticket. He is a friend of Northern Minne- sota, a strong booster for the pas- sage of Amendment No. One, chair- man of the committee to boost Amendment No. Two which provides that the state shall lend money to homesteaders at a low rate of in- terest for land clearing and other improvements, a man who would rep- resent this state intelligently in the Chicago convention. . . s Hayden for Delegate. Charles Hayden of Blackduck is candidate on the Republican Cum- mins ticket for delegate from the Sixth congressional district. Mr. Hayden has always been a strong Re- publican and deserves the support of every Republican in this distriet. s . Jerrard for Delegate. E. H. Jerrard of Bemidji is a can- didate for delegate in the Sixth dis- trict to the Republican convention on the Estabrook ticket. Republi- can supporters of Estabrook could do no better than to elect Mr. Jerrard a delegate. ¥ o Baer for Delegate. H. C. Baer, cashier of the Security State Bank of Bemidji, is a candidate for delegate from the Sixth district to the Democratic convention on the Wilson: ticket. Mr. Baer has always been a strong Democratic supporter, is an anti-Lynch combine man and should be sent to the St. Louis con- vention. . o ox Every voter should vote at tomor- row’s election. Baker is too closely allied to pie that we hasten to announce our em- inent satisfaction with the appoint- ment of the new secretary of war. Here’s hoping he is not quartered and devoured in the scramble. ‘When you see a beautiful maid sailing along the street with head in the ain and seeing nothing and hear- ing less, it’s a safe bet she is won- dering what gort of a semsation she is creating.
