BEMIDJI ELEVEN CRUSHES GLOQUET Scores 26 to 0 Against East State High School Team; Game Bril- liant With Plays. The Bemidji high school football team crushed the Cloquet high school the fajir grounds Saturday afternoon, score 26 to 0. team in a fast game at Rushed at Will. The Bemidji machine rushed up and down the field almost at will. The one-sidedness of the score, how- ever, fails to give the slightest ink- ling of the thrilling scope of the play or the remarkable strategy and indi- vidual brilliancy with which the game bristled. At one time the Clo- quet team had the ball withih one yard of the goal and the Bemidji squad held the team for three downs. Bemidji Excelled. Bemidji excelled by far in the ability of the backfield to get into the game and to get away for long runs. “Kaiser” Tanner showed much strategy in his diversion of plays, and his tackling and carrying of the ball for long runs was one of the features of the contest. “Fuzz” John- son at right half, despite injuries, played his usual brilliant, smashing game and tore through the opposing line for large gains. George Graham at left halfback played a sensational game and made the first two touch- downs for Bemidji. He was taken out in the last quarter because of in- juries. Warfield also played a geod game. In the line Captain Cameron, at tackle, Swisher, guard, and Phibbs center, were the stars, while the rest of the men deserve much credit for holding the heavy Cloquet backs. The manager of the Cloquet team AT THE (L} Bomiaj1 Proneer otice SUPPLY STORE was entirely satisfied with the game, inasmuch as this was Cloquet’s first game, and he desired through the columns of the Pioneer to express his appreciation of the excellent time and the many courtesies that were extended to his team.
