(United Press Staff Correspondent) Paris.—(By Mail to New~ York.) —There is no city on earth which loves a thrill better than Paris loves be |01, and tonight she got a dandy, a thrill .such as only a Zeppelin can procure. Not that one even started a rumor that a Zeppelin was coming but. that Paris took her first real precaution against one. ; As the night stole on, with the clouds hanging low and . drizzle fill- ing the air, policemen called on all Parisians. They ordered curtains drawn over all windows, blinds drawn or the lights put out. ' And Paris obeyed, thrilled through and through. Back of closed shutters the population sat and had delighted feelings steal over them for at least maybe a Zeppelin would come and they would see what the war was ilike. True. Parisians said to each other, they had seen German aeroplancs and heard the little bombs explode i which fell from them. This was quite thrilling for a time, but the |novelty soon wore off and the Ger- iman Tauben quit coming. A Zep- pelin is a far different thing; it is much bigger and its bombs are cor- respondingly larger. A Zeppelin icould really bombard the city and WOMAN SUFFERAGE It’s War Time Aspect. London, Feb. 23: The women of England are doing their duty. They are taking care of the wounded, or if they cannot assist in work of that kind they are adding their savings to promote the good work. They are knitting and sewing for the soldiers at the front. The suffragists have given so little trouble to the govern- ment that it will undoubtedly soften the hearts ‘of those in Parliament, since the “militants” have turned all their energies to aid the fighting men of England, and so sufferage may soon come after this terrible war is over. Thousands of women in America have overcome their sufferings, and Dr. Pierce’s Favorite Prescription. This medicine, though started nearly half a century ago, sells more widely today than any other womanly tonic. It can now be had in tablet form as well as liquid, and every woman who suffers from backache, headache, ner- vousness, pain at times, should take this “Prescription” of Dr. Pierce. Many a woman is nervous and irri- table, feels dragged down and worn out for no reason that she can think of. In ninety-nine per cent of these cases it is the womanly organism which requires attention; the. weak back, dizzy spells and black circles about the eyes, are only symptoms. Go to the source of trouble and cor- rect the irregularities, the drains on the woman]y system and the other symptoms disappear.
