i A BOYS BELIEVED LOST. Clifford Roe and Walter Breen Cause Parents Anxiety. Clifford Roe and Walter Breen, the ten year old so‘ns of Mr, and Mrs. K. K. Roe and Mr. and Mrs. John Breen, caused much anxiety to their parents last evening when they were believed to have been lost. Earlier in the day Mr. Roe had promised to take the boys out to his father’s farm, jn the town of Frohn, but the ap- pearance of rain clouds caused him to postpone the trip. The boys, how- ever, were not to lose out on the visit to grandpa and without asking per- mission walked out, arriving at the farm just before midnight. When the boys had not returned after the closing of the shows, both Mr. Roe and Mr. Breen began an investiga- tion. No word as to the whereabouts of the lands could be ascertained and when a neighbor of the Roe farm telephoned that the boys were not at the place, the parents became fran- tic. An automobile was secured and @ rush trip to the farm made. Upon arriving at the farm the boys were found, both fast asleep, the kind neighbor not having taken the trou- ble to investigate. Misuse of The Telephone The telephone nowadays plays such an important part ‘in social and business life that its misuse is a matter of keen public concern. It is quite a common thing for a man to use the telephone while at the same time trying to smoke, read a paper or at- tend to other matters. Don’t do it, please! Speak Plainly ‘When the calling party speaks indistinetly, or gives the wrong number, the wrong party is called and the service suffers because of the thought- lessness of a subscriber. It 'is essential that one speak directly into the tele- phone, and distinctly, and that the operator be corrected if she fepeats the wrong number. When the operator gets the right number from the sub- scriber and hears it correctly, very few errors occur.
