4 PR AT BAD TAKE SALTS Says Backache is ui.fn you have been eating too much meat, which forms uric acid. ‘When you wake up with backache and dull misery in the kidney region it gen- erally means you have been eating t0o. much meat, says a well-known authority. Meat forms uric acid which overworks the kidneys in their effort to filter it from the blood and they become sort of paralyzed and loggy. When your kidneys get sluggish and clog you must- relieve them, like you relieve your bowels; re- moving all the body’s urinous waste, elsa you have backache, sick headache, dizzy spells; your stomach sours, tongue i8 coated, and when the weather is bad you have rheumatic twinges. The urine 18 cloudy, full of sediment, channels often get sore, water scalds and you are obliged to seek relief two or three times during the night. i Either consult a good, reliable physi- cian at once or get from your pharmacist about four ounces of Jad Salts; take a tablespoonful in a glass of water before breakfast for a few.days and your kidneys will then act fine. This famous salts is made from the acid of pes and lemon juice, combined with lithia, | and has been used for generations to | clean and stimulate sluggish kidneys, also to neutralize acids in the urine so it no longer irritates, thus ending bladder weakness. Jad Salts is_a life saver for rey.lar meat eaters. It is inexpensive, cannot injure and makes a delightful, effer- vescent lithia-water drink. To Hold Special Meeting. I harlly expect the reader to fall out. of his chair in amazement when 1 report that the navy league has not accepted my suggestion. Should the government ‘adopt the policy of manufacturing all its munitions of war, 1 predict ‘that the Navy League ‘would not only loek the doors of its elegantly appointed suite in the na- tional capital, but that the same rich patriots. who are now. clamoring for a bigger and higger navy in the cer- tain knowledge that if their agita- tion is successful, they will draw down contracts worth millions, will be the loudest in®their protestations against an annual war expenditure of $250,000,000 in time of peace. I desire now to present some in- formation as to who is behind the Navy League: J. Pierpont Morgan was until his death one of the directors and a lib- eral contributor: Herbert L. Sater- lee, general counsél for the league, is a son-in-law and heir of Mr, Morgan. Gen. Horace Porter is president of the league. He was for many years an officer of the Pullman Co., a Mor- gan corporation. - Charles G. Glover is treasurer of the league. He is president of the Riggs National bank, ‘which is closer to Wall street than any other bank in Washington. Col. Robert L. Thompson is chair- man of the executive committee of the league. He is an eminent fin- ancier of the Morgan group. He is also the head, being chairman of the board of the International Nickel Co., and also holds the honorable post of president of /the New York Metal exchange, and other directors are similarly connected.
