' FATHER AND SON KILLED Struck by Street Car Near Lake Min:: ; netonka, Minn. 5 Minneapolis, Dec. 15.—George Krum- weide, a well-to-do farmer of Triumph, Minn., and his eldest son, Fred, nine: teen years old, instantly were killed when the automobile in which they were riding was struck by a Lake Minnetonks inbound car .at Clear Springs Cressing. They were on their way from Triumph to visit an- other son, Arthur, a student in the Minnesota WUniversity Farm school, and take him home with them for the Christmas holidays. The street car was traveling at such high speed, according to people living in the neighborhood of the crossing, that the heavy automobile was carried a distance of almost two blocks. . George F. Pendleton, Ore., Dec. 15.—Using a mile long mesh:wire fence farmers cleared their wheat fields of rabbit pests and incidentally provided food for the hungry of Portland and other Oregon cities. - Twelve hundred rabbits were taken in a drive over two sections of land.
