OXEN HAVE NARROW ESCAPE Yesterday afternoon a farmer tied a yoke of oxen to a Standard Oil wagon which was standing in front jof the Begsley blacksmith shop. The wagon had been repaired and was covered with snow. A few minutes later John Roe, driver for the Stand- ard Oil company, hitched his team to the weagon and started off not seeing the oxen were fast to a rear wheel. The horses on the oil wagon start- ed down Fourth stréet on the run dragging the oxen behind. The ox sled veered into a buggy in front of the blacksmith shop and upset it. Roe then noticed that his “horses were pulling a load and stopped. The oxen were loosened and tied to a tele- graph pole.
