Miss Marjorie Knappen returned this morning from Minneapolis where she had gone to spend Sunday with her parents. Miss Knappen went down to see a brother whom she had not seen for a number of years. L. L. Sartell of the Watab Paper company of St. Cloud, E. H. Pelton of St. Cloud, and Frank Markham of Brockway, Minn., were in the city this morning en route to St. Cloud from Boy River, where they have spent the past few days on business matters. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Collins of Crookston, arrived in the city yester- day to spend a few days here as the guests of friends. D., left yesterday for Minto after having spent the past week at La- vinia making preparations for the opening of their summer home. The Woman's Study club held their last meeting of the season yesterday afternoon at their club rooms in the basement of the library. The re- ports of the officers were heard, a re- view of the year’s work was taken and election of officers was held, The 1911 officers were re-elected for the. coming year, and are, Mrs. C. R. San- porn ,president; Mrs, F. S. Arnold, vige-president; Mrs. C. G. Johnson, recording secretary; Mrs. E. B. Me- Donald, corrésponding secretary; and Mrs. C. A. Huffman, teeasurer. Dur- ing the past year the club took for their study the shores of the Mediter- ranean, For the coming year they will study Russia. Arrangements were completed for the banquet which is to be held at the Markham 'on Monday, May 27. The husbands of the members will be the guests of the club and after the banquet the party will go to the Commercial club rooms where the remainder of the evening Wwill be spent in playing cards. During the past year the fol- lowing six new members were taken into the club, Mrs, E. F. Netzer, Mrs. D. L. Stanton, Mrs. B. W. Lakin, Mrs. C. W. Jewett, Mrs. G. B. Up- ham, and Mrs. H. A. Scharf.
