Two Victories Won by the City o Chicago. Chicago, Nov. 9.—Two victories wer¢ won during the day by the city o Chicago in its legal fight with the traction companies. In a lengthy de , cision Judge George A. Dupuy of the superior court upheld the contentior that the city had complied with the law in beginning quo warranto pro against panies. I'ollowing Judge Dupuy’s de cision an effort was made to delay the litigation until after action on Chicagc traction matters now pending in the United States supreme court. In this case Judge Dupuy also ruled against the traction companies. He held that proceedings in the state courts should be finished, regardless of the pendency of matters before the federal tribunal MOTHER DIES AT SON’S HAND Accidental Shooting at Valley River Man,, Is Fatal. ‘Winnipeg, Nov. 9.—~Mrs, F. Douzuk, wife of a progressive Galician farmer at Valley River, near Douphin, was found dead at her home. The woman’s death was the result of a gunshot wound. From what can be learned Mrs. Douzuk’s death was caused by her youngest son, aged twelve years. The coroner will visit the scene of the accident and may hold an inquest. _ KILLED BY HIS COMPANION.
