Fire at Park Rapids yesterday morning destroyed the building in which was located the Stang- ler saloon, causing a loss.of $2000. The stock and fixtures of the saloon were saved from the flames. The stock of the 'Park Rapids Drug company, located in an adjoining building to the Stangler saloon, suffered slightly by water. Sent to Insane Asylum. Mrs. Wilhelmina Michel, aged 82, of the town of Frohn, was this morning adjudged insane in Pro- bate Judge Clark’s court, and was this afternoon taken to Fer- gus Falls by Sheriff Bailey. The old lady was married twice, the name of her first husband being BEikstadt, and the published ac- counts of her insanity heretofore have given the latter name. Thomas and family, Miss Margarett Arnold of Twin Lakes called on Mrs. C. A, Matheny one day last week. Roy and Maxwell Thomas were Hines Spur visitors Monday. She could find no trace of him in Bemidji, and left last night over the M., & L for Northome, where a further search will be made. Coroner Marcum returned yes- terday from Tenstrike, where he investigated the .circumstances surrounding the death of Andrew Engstrom, the homesteader who was found dead two and one-half. miles north of that village Sun- day morning. Nothing indicat~ ing that the man’s death was due to foul play was developed, and Coroner Marcum decided that an inquest was unnecessary.
