Hull, Eng., Aug. 23.—The Arctic steamer Terra Novo, which under the command of William Schamp, son-in- law of the late William Ziegler, res- cued the members of the Ziegler polar expedition, arrived here during the day from Bergen, Norway, with An- tonio Fiala of Brooklyn, N.- Y., leader of the expedition, and his compan- ions, who are on their way to the United States. Bull, Newman Erb and F. F. Prince are buying the road in the market for J. J. Hill. Another item of news is to the effect that the sau n aie buying it for the Hollins syndicate, to be connected with the Pere Marquette by a car ferry. The most enterprising report is to the eifect that the road is in the hands of the Goulds, who will use it into St. Paul as a new Western divi- sion for the Wabash.
