These char- acteristics are like a cow, but the other characteristics were de- cidedly deer-like, “Ithad a slender body and small legs and the general coun- tour of the head, neck and body left no doubt but that the animal was a cross between a cow and a deer. “I was puzzled at the curious animal, and, to satisfy myself as to what it really was, called a Be- midji physician who happened to be at Buena Vista to the barn and showed him the animal. After a thorough examination he stated that there was not the least doubt that it was part deer and part cow. “The animal lived for three years, when it broke its leg ac- cidentally and I was forced to kill it.”’ JOE MARTELL TO CASS LAKE Man With Injured Arm Must Seek Medical Aid in Cass County.
