Crocker returned this morning from a trip up the line of the M. & I. in the interests of the Grand Forks Lumber Co. H. A. Henry Sturdevant of Tenstrike transacted business in the city yesterday, returning home last night. Dr. Fowler returned last night to his home at Blackduck after having spent several days in Be- i midji on professional business. The condition of Mrs. C.W. Jewett of Blackduck, who is con- fined at St. Anthory’s hospital in Bemidji, is pronounced as practically unchanged. Register of Deeds J. O. Harris left last night for Tenstrike to look after business interests in that village. Mr. Harris will re- turn to Bemidji tomorrow morn- ing. Dr. Pratt, who attended the Bemidji Bible Conference, left this morning for Minneapolis, where iie will attend the North- western Bible Conference before returning to his home at Albany, N. Y. That severe injuries were not sustained by men working at the D. G. Miller machine shop on ~Second street yesterday after- noon is almost miraculous. A large emery wheel was being operated at full speed when the wheel flew to pieces and the frag- ments were hurled in every di- rection. Fortunately the pieces did not strike any of the men. Jenness, publisher of the Danbury Review, is in the city from Danbury, TIowa. Mr, Jenness owns a large amount of land in Beltrami county and he is looking after his interests in that line. Over 600 acres of land owned by him is located a short distance east of Lake Bemidji. Henry Miller, Sr., of Foy post- office is in the city today on busi- ness. Mr. Miller states that the country in the vicinity of Foy is flooded with water and that the outlook for a hay crop is very discouraging. He says thatitis ‘almost impossible for residents from one farmhouse to another. Mr. Teitsworth was accompanied by his brother, George W. Teits- worth of Minneapolis, claimagent for the Twin City Transit com- pany, whois enjoying a visit at Bagley with his brother.
