THE Northern Pacific railway hass just sent out two very |bean- tiful booklets descriptive of the lake region of Minnesota. Here is Bemidji in the very heart of that region, situated upon one of the finest bodies of water of them all, and surrounded with every advantage which the sportsmen and the seeker after pleasure or health holds dear and yet Be- midji gets scant mention in the Northern Pacific booklets. There is ‘What is it? Possibly it is in ourselves, Per- haps we have not been very en- thusiastic or very enterprising aboutadvertising our advantages. One of the booklets treats of points of interest along the Min- nesota & International railway, and nearly a dozen pictures of Walker and vicinity are given, but only two of Bemidji, Bemidji in fact, has less representation in thz book than ani other resort along the line. Isn’t it about time that Be- midji put out some advertising matter on its own responsibility setting forth its adyantages as a resort? something wrong. The Bible Conference. THE first session of the Be- midji Bible Conference, though only a modest attempt along this line, is proving a decided success. In point of speakers Bemidji has secured talent second to none heard in the northwest this sea. son and there are few Chautau- that can boast of better quality, although many haye easily out- done us in point of numbers. The beginning which the Bible Conference has made is most auspicious and we make no doubt that the second session next year will attract twice as many people at the very least. No more than was Rome, can these things be built upina day. We believe the Bible Conference con- tains the germ of an idea which shall grow and grow.and make’ for the betterment of Bemidji. from the standpoint of business and from the standpoint of good citizenship. THERE are still a great many R | people in Minnesota who want to ! fight the campaign of 1904 all over again. They demand the renomination of Dunn by the re- publicans. Here is the St. Paul Review: One defeat was sufficient for Eustis, but we much mistake the man if Dunn is built on the same model. He is at the head of the republican party in this state and it not meet that he should sur- render his place at the st of a few knockers who accow plished his defeat.
