While sailing on Lake Bemidji in the ~‘Sea Gull” yesterday afl- ternoon, Ray Sprague and Geo. Markham narrowly escaped at least a good ducking and possibly death by drowning. The wind was rather high and a sudden squall caught the sails and ups?et the boat. Both cccupants clung to the hall of the boat and were soon taken off by another boat. Saw Four Bears. Christ Marcuson, employed at the W. G. Schroeder store on Minnesota avenue, returned this morning from Werner, where he has been looking after Mr. mercantileinterests for a week. WORK BEGUN ON MASONIC HALL New Structure to Be Built by Masons Will be Complet- ed in Four Months. The committee appointed to secure plans and specifications and to let the contract for the construction of the new Masome hall to be built at the corner of Fitth streetand Beltramiavenue, consisting of G.. E. Carson, Wm. McCuaig and J.. H. French, have let the contract for excavating the basement and the excavation work has already been started. As yet the contract for the build ing has not been let.
