A fco.ball game has been ar- ranged for Sunday on the home grounds between Bemidji and Cass Luke, The home team has been greatly strengthened and Cass Lake has been working hard for some weeks, so that lovers of the game are promised an excit- ing struggle. Strong in South. Letters received by individuals from the southern part of the state are to the effect that the tide of sentiment there is strong for Dunn. Mr. Dunn’s meetings are marked by the greatest en- thusiasm, and where there was disaffection three weeks ago there is now nothing but Dunn| sentiment. They Came High. Yesterday through a mistake in proof reading the Pioneer caused the Bemidji Mercantile company to advertise apples for $1.60 to $3 per bushel when the price should have been per bar- rel. Aglance at the firm’s big ad today will disclose the correct prices and show some extraordi- nary bargains in apples. Will Spell Down. Sup’t Richie of the city schools informs the Pioneer that a healthy interest is being taken in the upper grades in the old fash- ioned matter of spelling. A test between the pupils of the seventh and the eighth grades has been arranged for Friday and parents § will be welcomed if they will at- | tend. Want a Drill Hall. The Bemidji militia company will petition to ‘he school board for the use of the big new base- ment under the addition to the school house made last winter. The company would like to use the basement as a drill hall and it is possible that sonie such ar- rangement can be made, th2 basement being large large and convenient and not used for school purposes in the evening. Confessions of a Priest. Rev. Jno. S. Cox, of Wake, Ark,, writes, “For 12 years I suffered from yellow jaundice. I|. consulted a number of physicians and tried all sorts of medicines, but got no relief. Then I began the use of Hlectric Bitters and feel that I am now cured of a di- sease that had me in its grasp for twelve years.” If you want reliable mediclne for liver and kidney trouble, stomach disorder or general debility, get Electric Bitters. It’s guaranteed by all druggists. Only 50c. Inside facts soon become evident in outside symptoms.—DR. G. G. GREEN, The aid of scientific inventions is not needed to determine whether your lungs are affected. The first symptoms can be readily noted by anyone of average in- telligence. 7 There is no disease known that gives so many plain warnings of its approach as consumption, and no serious disease that can_be so quickly reached and checked, if the me&icine used is Dr. Boschee's German Syrup, which is made to cure consumption. qt is in the early stages that German Syrup should be taken, when warnings are given in the cough that won’t quit, the congestion of the bronchial tubes and the gradual weakening of the lungs, ac- companied by frequent expectoration. QBut no matter how deep-seated your cough, even if dread consumption has already attacked your lungs, German Syryp will surely effect a cure—as it has done before in thousands of apparently hopeless cases of lung trouble. In an account of the purchase of dead heads by Senator Swed- back in yesterday’s Pioneer it was said that the purchase was made from the Crookston Lum- ber company. The purchase was made from the Brainerd Lumber company, however, and the mis- take was undoubtedly at once realized as such by those whoare familiar with the operations of the company here. Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy. No one who is acquainted with its good qualities can be sur- prised at the great popularity of Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy. It not only cures colds and grip effectually and permanently, but prevents these diseases from re- sulting in pneumonia, It is also a certain cure for croup. Whoop- ing cough is not dangerous when this remedy is given. It con- tains no opium or other harmful substance and may be given as confidently to baby as to an aduit. It is pleasant to take. ~ When all these facts are taken into consid- eration it is not surprising that people in foreign lands, as well as at home, esteem this remedy very highly and very few are willing to take any other after ‘having once used it. The readers of this paper will be pleased to learn that there is at least one dreaded disease that science has been able to cure in allits stages, and that is catarrh. Hall’s Catarrh Cure is the only positive cure now known to the medical fraternity Catarrh be- ing a constitutional disease, re- quires a constitutional treatment. Hall’s Catarrh Cure is taken in- ternally, acting directly upon the blood and mucous surfaces of the system, thereby destroying the foundation of the disease, and giving the patient strength by building up the constitution and assisting nature in doing its work. No. The Chiropractic and the Osteopath both aim to put in place that which is out of place, to right that which is wrong; but the Path- ology Diagnosis, Prognosis and Movements are entirely different. ‘ One of my patients, Mr. W. A. Casler, has taken both Chiropractic and Osteopoth treatments. The Chiropractic is ten times more direct in the adjustments and the results getting health ten times more thor- ough in one tenth of the time than an Osteopath would. mwm&&&wmaj MY WORK I8 £QUALLED BY FEW, EXCELLED BY NONE A Deposit Reqaired on All Werk YOUR TRADE SOLICITED Traveling Men Holler. The speech of John Lind last evening stirred the traveling men who happened tojbe in the cicy to renewed enthusiasm and there were few of them on the. out go- ing trains this morning who were not yvociferous in their denuncia- tion of Mr. Dunn. The real ani- mus which is behind the talk of these men is now pretty well un derstood however and it is safe to say that what the big jobbing and wholesale houses of the twia cities do not wantis exactly what the rest of us do want. Cause of Lockjaw. Lockjaw, or tetanus, is caused by a bacillus or germ which ex- ists plentifully in street dirt. It isinactive solong as exposed to the air, but when carried beneath the skin, as in the wounds caused by percussion caps or by rusty nails, and when the air is ex- cluded the germ is roused to ac- tivity and produces the most vir- ulent poison known. These germs may be destroyed and all danger of lockjaw avoided by ap- plying Chamberlain’s Pain Balm freely as soon as the injury is received. Pain Balm is an antiseptic and causes cuts, bruises and like injuries to heal without maturation and in one- third the time required by the usual treatment. Sold by Bar- ker’s Drug store.
