Wheelock: “Many peo- ple went away from the opera house during the presentation of “Ghosts” by Laura Franken- field because they did not like the play. There isno doubt but that it is one of the bestthings ever presented here in its line, but the tastes of the people of Bemidji vary and it ig almost impossible to secure a perform- ance which will please all class es.” Dr. Rowland Gilmore: ‘“Now that election is over every repub- lican should put his shoulder to the wheel and support the can- didates named by the republi- cans of the ‘county at large. Some were disappointed, and in fact there were very fev voters who picked out all the winners, but all should abide by the peo- ple’s choice.” B Citizen: “It is to be hoped that work on the new Red Lake railroad will be begun this fall and pushed as rapidly as possi- ble, There is no doubt that the benefit to Bemidji will be great, and the people of the city should use every endeavor to induce the company to finish its erection be- fore next fall, [ AMUSEMENTS | Jos. Kearney, who essays the role of Happy Jack in Manager Newell’s comedy sensation, ‘“‘An American Tramp,” is the best delineator of the genius hobo on the American stage. His make up is said to be perfect and so ex- act that were he to leave the stage and appear on the streets in his rags and tatters our police would surely send him to the | worhouse, purely on his looks. In this play he says some very funny things, and does some very grotesque specialties. His sing- ing is said to be inimitable City Opera House, Sept. 26. One of my patients, Mr. W. A. Casler, has taken both Chiropractic and Osteopoth treatments.
