Mrs. Rowland Gilmore and Miss Ella Parker left this after- noon for Fosston where they will spend several days on a berry picking expidition. E. H. Jerrard is at Cass Lake this afterncon, where he has re- cently secured the contract for putting in a heating plant in the residence of F. P. Leisen. The prices of meat in the local market went up from one to two cents all around today, the first direct effectof the meat cutter’s strike so far felt in Bemidji. John Jinkinson is in North Dakota this week looking after his interests there. Mr. Jinkin- son has afine farm near Milton and goes up to see how the crops are looking. Taxidermist Henry Buenther today shipped twovery handsome deer heads and a moose head to Frank Leisen the Cass Lake banker. The heads will be put up in the bank at Cass Lake. Peter Krause, an employe at the Crookston mill is off duty with aninjured foot. Theinjury was sustained in a recent acci- dent at the mill and the foot was crushed by a heavy timber fall- ing on it. Vernon Dunbar, better known as “Shaggy” who is working on McAyoy’s dray line met with an accident at the Swedback mill this morning. Dunbar was un- loading some logs when one of timbers rolled from the load and over his body He sustained some very bad bruises, but fortunately no broken limbs. W. L. Reynolds will in a short time complete a course in chiro- practic with Dr. Brinkman in this _city. Mr. Reynolds has been a careful student and leaves Dr. Brinkman in a short time to open offices for himself at some good location. He has many Be- midji friends and all will extend best wishes for his success. The fishing in Lake Bemidji has not been better during the present summer than this week. Some of the finest catches of the season are being brought to the boat house.
