George Scott went to St. Cloud this morning. Mr. Scott had charge of the logging -operations for the Gray estate at Mallard Lake last winter and all the busi ness has been finished. The Mississippi in the vicinity of the bridge about two miles from town was literally alive with fishermen yesterday. Fish are running in good shape and the fishermen are having lots of sport. ‘ Judge J. H. McGarry, of Walker, is in a Brainerd hospital in a critical condition, suffering O from a stroke of apoplexy. The! judge is well known all over this section. He is a brother of P. H. | McGarry. Wild ducks have begun to come north in large numbers At daylight this morning thére was a big flight up the river and in the open water on Lake Be- midji there were thousands of ducks.
