The Woman Congress is divided. Woman cannot agree, not even on love. Leadership will kill the best men, if they aspire to it. Some white women who are second class among their own setto, join forces with first-class colored women and take the front seat. Anything that is white, will suit some people. One white man can do more with 500 Afro-Americans than 100 Afro- American representatives. The representative women of the race should agree on one organiza- tion. The District Democrats have a good representative, in the person of Mr. Lawrence Gardner. Honest men will succeed when; others fail. Politiciaus will have a chance to get on the police force. Nominee Bryan has made no bid for the colored vote. Negro leadership is a failure. A new leadership is what is wanted among the Afro-Americans. The people will rot make fools of themselves. D. H. Johnson, Editor of the Abbeville, 8S. C., Quiver, is trying to poison the negroes against the white people. The white people of Abbeville, S. C., irrespective of party have been kind to Afro-Americans. The Abbeville Banner, a paper ow Can You Sell I So good second hand Typewriters at such low prices We are fre- quently asked. MURPHY, Wholesole and Retail Dealer in Groceries, Teas, edited by a high-toned southern gentleman, has always supported celored enterprises. Johnson will quiver if he keeps on. Johnson wants negroes to marry white women in the South. In one of his Northern speeches he said white women of Abbev'lle, S. C., would marry negroes if it were not for the prejudiced white people of the South. This is the kind of talk this negro editor indulges in. The best thing for the colored people of Abbeville, S. C., is to invite this disturber of the peace to leave. The women Afro-American lead- ers get their neople divided then they desert them. The condition of the Southern negro is due largely to unwise lead- ership and such doctrine as D. H. Jehnson, is presenting to the colo- red people. The white people of Abbeville, S. C., are more friendly to the negro than 50 negroes like John- son. Lawyer John A. Moss, has won a legal victory. Moss, knows a thing or two. Lawyer Moss has the dignity of a judge, ; ‘ He is a thorough race man and a hustler. Pension Attorney Middleton, has been a success in his business, Where does the negro stand. When dogs bark they make a noise. It is the great man who says great things. Justice Hewlett, will be one of the Judges of the Police Court. The Afro-American must exer- cise his independence.
