I soon learned that the way to clear the house is to sweep them with a broom into the middle of the floor be- fore they have time to hide, and then, keeping them well away from the fur- niture and door ngs, to hurry them along until th ure opposite the open door, and to shoot them out with a push which sends them over the steps and r of everything, down the hill, for if they are simply pushed out they hang by the tips of their claws over the wall and out of sight, ady to come back as soon as the way is clear.—Scribner.
