Give the BEE more sid and you — We, the young white men of Jackson, having seen one of our number coldly, cruelly and hellish- ly murdered in the dark bya ne- gro bully set on by a negro police- man of this negro cursed city, do hereby resolve in solemn and aw- fal earnestness, that the corrupt, Radical negro government of our city should, must, and shal! be wiped out, cost it what it may. We have earnestly believed in peace and law and order, and we hope now that this government of negro butchers may peacefuliy yield to defeat, but we want no peace bought at the price of our manhood and of our companion’s blood. Driven by no sndden passion or blind impulse, but actuated by a firm and deliberate sense of che duty we owe to ourselves and to our race, we hereby warn the ne- groes that if any ove of their race attempts to run for office in the approaching municipal election, he does so at his supremest peril, and we further warn any and all ne- groves of this city against attempt- ing, at their utmost hazard, by vote orinfluence to foist on us again this black aad damnable taachine miscalled a government of our city. The two sets of Distriet delegates to the Chicago Convention are now enjoy- ing a warm discussion over the probabil. ties of their admission by the Commit- tee on credentials. Perry Carson and Andrew Gleasen, with their alternates, Danie) E. Cahill and Marcellus West, are confident that they are the only and le- gitimate ag Rogers eo of the Republi- cans ofthe District, but their claim is _ being disputed by Messrs Shellabarger, a Dyson, Holland and Chase. Mr. Carson was especially jubilant last night because Fred Douglass had declared openly that Carson and Gleason were undoubtedly elected by the Willard Hall Convention. Daily Post. If Mr. Fredrick Douglaes, the disappointed aspirant for the Chi- cago convention, made such an assertion credited to hiin by our esteemed contemporary, we are not surprised. Mr. Douglass will declare anything but his prayers. It bas been but a few months since Douglass, in a public meet- ing at the 4th Baptist church de nounced Mr. Carson as having led a mob and on the day of the convention this same Douglass requested Dyson to hold the chair against the mob. Douglass in- fluence, like himself, is played out end the less hebas to say about our delegation the better. We have no more faith in Dou- glass than we have in the Carson bogus delegation. Fred Dou- glass isa very emall man iv the estimation of the colored people : and if he is not very careful we “ certainly shall give a reminiscience of his smallness. On the day of the Willard Hall Conventiou this same Douglass, like an old fox, seated himself on the stage at the Willard Hall, willing to accept of anything. Failing to receive anything he called a little meet- ing of bis family and a few of his personal pot house politicians and denounced Perry Carson because h¢failed to be placed on the bogus delegation. Douglass can déclare for whom he pleases, Jadge Shelleberger and Dyson will be admitted. Tim Fortune has at last found a resting place. He will now rest until the day of resurrection. We had long since concluded that the disraptions in our schools had ceased when certain corrupt trustees were removed. By whatauthority an exhibition was ordered without the cnowledge and consent of the board we are at - a loss to know. Dr. Francis in the board on last Tuesday night, re- buked Mr. Coruish for his usarpa- . tion of power, also the other mem- bers of the board knew nothing of the industrial exhibition which is to take place shortly. The most laughable thing was the remark of Mr. Cornish when he said that he intended to send the board an in- vitation. Of course that meant Dr, Francis also. The doctor was to be invited te an exhibition in his divi- sion of which he was ignorent.
