Washington, May 6.—The trial of the various par- Ces engaged as accomplices or as actnal participants fo the assassination conspiracy which reeulted in the morder of Abraham Lincoln, and the wounding of Becretary Seward and son, will commence in this ity next weok. The trial will open probably on Monday, but it is possible that circumstances may eompel a postponement until the middle of the week, The hearing will be probably open f& the public, and extensive preparations are being made to furnish the public with full reports of the trial from day to day, The Court will be eomposed of gentlemen of superior ability, and the trial will be rapidly pushed forward, The Govern- guent have engaged six okilful writers of short-hand, © furnish ite report of the proceedings. ‘The trial will take place at the Arsenal, at the foot ef Four-and-a-balf street, where the prisouere are mow in custody, under the guard of @ regiment of sol diers, Sixteen of them were brought there at mid- wight of last Saturday, from the monitors Sangue and Montauk, on which they had been hitherto confined.
