A third young man, dressed as much like the two bighwhymen as though the three had been costumed for a vaudeville song-and-dance act, jumped to the seat beside the driver of the cab, Vidal Madorrian of .No. 46 Manhattan Avenue, put a revolver to the chauffeur's side and com- manded him with a curse to “get going.” Madorrian promptly ran his cab Into the one ahead of it so that tho wheels jammed. Detectives of the West 68th Street Station,arriving in a police automobile, made a hurried search for the taxi- cab in which the robbers had attempt- ed to escape and its driver, Later they learned Madorrian had of his own motion driven directly to the sta- tion and reported the attempted rob- bery to Lieut.
