The first announcement of a new taxicab company, which ‘has con- tracted for 1,000 cabs with which to fegin operation, is made to-day. The first cabs probably will be running in sixty days. According to the officers, the for- mation of the new comapny was in- aspired by the passage of the Taxicab Bonding Law which requires each owner of a taxicab to file a bond or undertaking in the amount of at least for each person injured, with 2 State Tax Commission, as Insur- ance for the recovery of claims for accidents or personal injuries, The air of the new organization is to popularize the taxicab industry in providing the public with semblng the highest class at rates lower than ever reached ©, as well as having the public Advisory Board, heror represented by an having contro! over the deportment of taxicab chauffeurs. The company is to be known as the Diamond Cab Company of New York and has been incorporated.
