Jazz Gave Her A Wiggle Girl | Can’t Shake Off, Gets “Diarthrosistis” When Music Sounds, So Sues for $10,000, CHICAGO, May 24.—Modern dane- ing did so much to Miss Marte Ehlers sho has sued Ernie Young, a theatri- cal promoter, for $10,000. She says she is suffering from “diarthrosistis.” In her bill she states she also has contracted a disease which causes her limbs and body to quiver when sho hears Jazz music. The bill sets forth Young required her “to execute many contortions, conyolutions, distortions and gyra- tions associated with modern danc- ing aberrations, particularly twisting and writhing of the hips and shtver- ing and convulsing of the shoulders.” Therefore, Miss Ehlers continues, she was greatly injured and fell a victim to the malady known as “diarthrosistis.” Of the jazz emotion she said she in “peculiarly sensitive to soniferous instruments, suggestive of an ac- centuated syncopation of a jazz or- chestra, which incites her involun- tarily and unconsciously to wiggle and revolve.” 36 West 57th SALE TWO HUNDRED HATS *D Formerly $30 to $40 St. “STANDING OR WALKING —there is no escape Everywhere the same unyielding hardness un- derfoot!
