CINCINNATI, May 9 (Copyright) —What shall be done with little Rob- erc Lutkehaus, who, last Thursday, shot and killed his baby playmate, Richard Abraham? That problem is puzzling Cincin- Rati, officials and citizens alike. \ It was not the usual case of ‘didn’t know it was loaded.” There is evi- dence that, in the eyes of the law, the act was premeditated, Robert, ten, and Richard, four, were playing in the Lutkehaus apartment with Robert's brother, George, seven. Before leaving to take her sister's place as a hotel stenographer for the day, Mrs. Lutkehaus told Robert he must not bring any neighbor's chili dren into the home, Robert did not heed. To avoid his mother finding out he had disobeyed, Robert ordered Richard to ald in clearing up the rooms. The four-year-old boy paid mo heed. “You do-as I tell you or I will kill you," said Robert sternly. The little tot simply laughed. Without another word Robert ran fmto an adjoining room occupled by P. B. Wright, a boarder, and returned with a revolver, He pressed this against Richard's breast and pulled the trigger. ‘There was a sharp re port, a frightened cry, and little Richaed crumpled td the floor. Little George stood horrified. Turn- ing to him and warning him that if he made a nolse, “I'll beat your brains out,” Robert dragged the limp body of Richard down the stairs which led to the front porch. There for an hour he stood panic-stricken trying to make up his mind what to do. A workman, entering to perform a task, opened the door and Robert dashed pell mell down street. George followed in abject horror, He ran gcross the street to the Abraham home and screamed to Mrs. Abraham that Dickie was dead. Meanwhile, the workman, discovered the body and rushed to the General Hospital. Doc- tors said the boy died instantly. Hours later Robert was discovered by his grandfather wandering about, afraid to return home. Yet, since then, in the juvenile detention home, ho has romped and played, appar- ently unmindful of thé tragedy. He has shown no remorse. Robert will be examined by the psy- chological experts of the State Bureau of Juvenile Research.
