From the greeting of his former comrades the Marshal went to a re- ception at the home of Mrs, Willard ~ Straight at No. 1150 Fifth Avenue, where he was greeted by the members of the French-American Union for Open Air Schools in France. Among those who escorted the Marsha! to his box in the armory was Alfred Lallemahd, seventy-five years’ old, President of the French Brother- hood of the War of 1870. He served as a non-commissioned officer in the Franco-Prussian War, in which Mar- shal Joffre was a Lieutenant, and wore three decorations on his breast.
