Vogelsang of tte navy, William Deegan, State Commander of tha American Legion, W. Ward Smith, representing Gov. Miller, Spe- cial Deputy Commissioner John A. Marrixs, William Fellowes Morgan of the Merchants’ Association, and Father Duffy, Chaplain of the 69th New York and the 165th United States Infantry, called upon B. Albee of the B, F. Keith Vaudeville Circuit, They told him that they to change his plans for t of-a-century celebration. vanted him eith third- Miss Lil- after de- lian Russell, as spokest livering to Mr Py n, Albee the congratu tions of sident Harding on the third-of Mtury anniversary of an organization prosperously devoted to clean amusement and entertainment, said that the vast army of artists who have benefited by the develop- ment and managerial resourcefulness of this great circuit of theatres under Mr. Albee's direction begged to share in the observance of the anniversary. Mr. Albee originally intended to limit the celebration to the actual present employ and theatre at- taches, but he was convinced that he should make the anniversary more Significant than he at first planned. During the coming weeks Mr. Albeo said he would devote the entire cir- cult to activities to promote better citizenship and lend immediate aid toward the sblution of the community and loeality problems of to-day by lending mutual co-operation, inv ting constructive suggestions and eatend- ing the hospitality of the Keith thea- tres and allied houses of the B, F, Keith Vaudeville Exchange, founded by B. F. Keith, E. F. Albee, A. Paul Keith and F. F. Proctor, to those ac- credited civic and public spirited or- ganizations which have at heart the betterment of their communal, social and industrial cond'tions, The anniversary will be made fur- ther memorable -by renewed efforts. this year to encourage and assist American artists to excel in vocal and instrumental music, in the further development of the ballet by Ameri can dancers and 'n the promotion of all native talent through materia! encouraggment and the various vital assisting agencies of the Kelth or- ganization. In celebration of the third-of-a-cen- tury anniversary, the theory aod pract'ce of the Keith Boys’ Band {doa will be extended and promoted throughout the circuit so that the rising boy generation of the whole country, and especially the Boy Scout organization, may share the advan- tages and the pleasures the junior organization here in New York has enjoyed for years.
