The road surface is good macadam the whole way and magnificent scen ery; the views from the section be- tween Bloomingsburg und Wurtsboro, overiovking the valleys on both sides for miles, with the mountains in the distance, are most im , while the elimi) over Bloomir rx Moun tain, though steep, presents no dit- fieulty. After passing through a numbe pretty villages, among which ven, Wurtsbore and Phillips; road enters Ulster County at Glen and passes through Ellenville to Napanoch, 103 miles from New York, overlooking the panoramic Rondoul Valley. For the next ten or twelve miles the route runs through the val- ley as far as the vicinity of Kysert bearing jeft at that point for Stone Ridge and Marbleton, and following the course of Esopus Creek through Hurley into Kingston, 137 miles from New York, and practically midway along the round tour. The trip from Kingston round the | Ashokan Dam is well worth making It entails an additional thirty-five or forty miles over roads of excellent quality. On the return portion of the tour the route leaves Kingston by Broad- way, crossing the ferry to Sleights- burg and continuing south along the west side of the Hudson through P HBwen and Esopus to Highland, thence through Milton and Marlboro, following the trolley to Newburgh, run of thirty-four miles, Here the ferry across the Hudson is taken tw Beacon, and the picturesque Fishkill | Mountains are skirted as the route turns south for Annsville and Peeks- Kill, twenty miles on, and continu on the Albany Post Road throug Croton, Harmon, Ossining and Scar-| oro to Tarrytown. From Irvington and Dobbs ry to Hastings and thence by Warburton Avenue to Yonkers, completing @ distance of 100 miles from Kingston, and 231 miles for the whole round trip.
