FINANCIAL Q'S AND A'S [rs To-day's market was an uninter- esting affair compared with recent sessions, but a healthy undertone was noticeable, with the motors and steel stocks showing signs of ac- cumulation. (Mexican Petroleum was the leader among the oils and closed the day with a gain of over 4 points. There appears to be a big short interest in this stock with a comparatively sma floating supply due to the ex- change for Pan American Petroleum. The latter wae up a point while Royal Dutch also showed a gain of 1 1-2 to 101 1-2. The sugar stocks attracted atten- tion by moving up. American Sugar on ‘reports that the company’s bal- ance sheet for the year just closing has been the best in its history sold up over 3 points. (Crucible sold up over 5 points and thereby ‘distinguished itself. Other favorites for those long of the mar- {ket were Clumbia Gas and Electric, General Mtors, Pierce Arrow and | White Motors. ¥ eno & Bs = eee eeeeees eee chee “Ke s°ssecht i Be a THE OUTSIDE MARKET.
